Comme son concurrent, le P16, il devait aboutir \u00e0 &nbsp;un avion de combat suisse, performant et produit localement. H\u00e9las, des probl\u00e8mes aussi bien techniques que politiques allaient rendre cette mission insurmontable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Pour la construction du N20, et afin de valider le concept, il fut d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de proc\u00e9der par \u00e9tape. Ainsi les appareils suivants furent-ils construits :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Le N20.1 un planeur \u00e0 &nbsp;l&#8217;\u00e9chelle 2\/3,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le N20.2 Arbal\u00e8te, un quadrir\u00e9acteur \u00e0 &nbsp;l&#8217;\u00e9chelle 2\/3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le N20.10 Aquillon, prototype de quadrir\u00e9acteur exp\u00e9rimental \u00e0 &nbsp;l&#8217;\u00e9chelle 1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le N-20.1<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Destin\u00e9 \u00e0 &nbsp;v\u00e9rifier le concept de l&#8217;aile delta \u00e0 &nbsp;double fl\u00e8che, il s&#8217;agissait d&#8217;un planeur \u00e0 &nbsp;l&#8217;\u00e9chelle 60 % de ce devait \u00eatre le futur chasseur. D\u00e9sign\u00e9 N-20.1 il pouvait \u00eatre \u00e9quip\u00e9 d&#8217;un petit moteur fus\u00e9e donnant 450 Kg de pouss\u00e9e pendant 12 secondes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce moteur fut entre autre utilis\u00e9 pour effectuer quelques &#8220;sauts de de puce&#8221; en pr\u00e9paration au premier vol libre qui eu lieu 17 avril 1948 aux mains du lieutenant Walter L\u00e4derach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le 1er juillet 1949, \u00e0 &nbsp;son 69\u00e8me vol, le N20.1 s&#8217;\u00e9crasa sur l&#8217;a\u00e9rodrome d&#8217;Emmen sans que ces qualit\u00e9s de vols soient en cause. Le pilote, la Major Mathez, s&#8217;en tira avec quelques \u00e9gratignures, mais l&#8217;appareil \u00e9tait perdu. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le N-20.2 Arbalete<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le nouvel avion, d\u00e9sign\u00e9 N-20.2 \u00ab Arbal\u00e8te \u00bb avait les m\u00eames dimensions que son pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur. Il \u00e9tait \u00e9quip\u00e9 de 4 turbor\u00e9acteurs Turbom\u00e9ca Pim\u00e9n\u00e9, en pod, 2 sur l&#8217;intrados, 2 sous l&#8217;extrados, comme on peut le voir sur ces images.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le premier vol a eut lieu le 16 novembre 1951. Les pilotes ont lou\u00e9 les bonnes qualit\u00e9s de vol malgr\u00e9 la faible pouss\u00e9e donn\u00e9e par les quatre Pim\u00e9n\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s 91 vols, l&#8217;avion a \u00e9t\u00e9 arr\u00eat\u00e9 de vol \u00e0 &nbsp;1954.
