{"id":3408,"date":"2021-01-31T10:27:14","date_gmt":"2021-01-31T09:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tst.minijets.org\/?page_id=3408"},"modified":"2025-01-06T21:30:34","modified_gmt":"2025-01-06T20:30:34","slug":"short-sb4-sherpa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/minijets.org\/fr\/150-300\/turbomeca-palas\/short-sb4-sherpa\/","title":{"rendered":"Short SB-4 Sherpa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Le premier vol du short SB-4 Sherpa a \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9 \u00e0&nbsp;<strong>Belfast<\/strong>&nbsp;le&nbsp;<strong>4 octobre 1953<\/strong>&nbsp;\u00e0 &nbsp;partir de l&#8217;a\u00e9rodrome de Sydenham pr\u00e8s de BELFAST, aux mains de&nbsp;<a href=\"#brooke-smith\" data-type=\"internal\" data-id=\"#brooke-smith\">Tom Brooke-Smith<\/a>, chef pilote de <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Short_Brothers\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Short_Brothers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Short Brothers<\/a>, qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 enchant\u00e9, parait-il, des r\u00e9actions de l&#8217;avion. Il s&#8217;agissait d&#8217;un avion exp\u00e9rimental, destin\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9tudier les particularit\u00e9s d&#8217;une aile de type aero-isoclinic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La conception &#8220;iso-clinique&#8221; de l\u2019aile repose sur un positionnement sp\u00e9cifique des axes de torsion du longeron de l\u2019aile en fl\u00e8che, de mani\u00e8re \u00e0 maintenir des angles d\u2019incidence constants lorsque l\u2019aile se d\u00e9forme vers le haut. C&#8217;\u00e9tait un appareil, construit principalement en bois et de caract\u00e9ristiques identiques \u00e0 &nbsp;celles du \u00ab SHERPA \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On esp\u00e9rait que l&#8217;exp\u00e9rimentation de ce planeur permettrait d&#8217;acqu\u00e9rir quelques renseignements de base sur le comportement pratique de l&#8217;aile \u00ab aero-isoclinic \u00bb.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A la suite d&#8217;un incident grave, survenu au cours d&#8217;un d\u00e9collage en vol remorqu\u00e9, il fut jug\u00e9 que ce proc\u00e9d\u00e9 \u00e9tait trop dangereux, et comme Blackburn venait d&#8217;acqu\u00e9rir la licence de fabrication des petits r\u00e9acteurs fran\u00e7ais TURBOMECA, il fut d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de redessiner l&#8217;appareil avec deux <a href=\"https:\/\/minijets.org\/150-300\/turbomeca-palas\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2891\">Blackburn-Turbomeca Palas<\/a> de 160 Kp. de pouss\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Short SB-4 Sherpa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"337\" src=\"http:\/\/minijets.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Short_SB4_04.jpg\" alt=\"Short SB-4 Sherpa\" class=\"wp-image-2858\" srcset=\"https:\/\/minijets.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Short_SB4_04.jpg 500w, https:\/\/minijets.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Short_SB4_04-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/minijets.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Short_SB4_04-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Short SB4 &#8211; Sherpa &#8211; avant sont 1er vol &#8211; Source : Aviation Week 2 novembre 1953<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<p>La particularit\u00e9 de cette&nbsp;Aile volante, con\u00e7ue par David Keith-Lucas, chef du bureau d&#8217;\u00e9tude SHORT, dont la fl\u00e8che de bord d&#8217;attaque atteint 43 \u00b0, r\u00e9side dans un dispositif isoclinic d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 \u00e0 &nbsp;partir de la th\u00e9orie du major HILL, qui avait d&#8217;ailleurs \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9prouv\u00e9e sur toute une s\u00e9rie d&#8217;ailes volantes (Pterodactyl), construite avant la guerre par Westland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les r\u00e9acteurs <a href=\"https:\/\/minijets.org\/150-300\/turbomeca-palas\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2891\">Blackburn Turbomeca Palas<\/a> sont plac\u00e9s c\u00f4te \u00e0 &nbsp;c\u00f4te sur le dos du fuselage, dans un compartiment isol\u00e9 du reste de la cellule par des cloisons pare-feu. L&#8217;entr\u00e9e d&#8217;air, situ\u00e9e sur le dos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&#8217;\u00e9jection des gaz br\u00fbl\u00e9s se fait par deux tuy\u00e8res ind\u00e9pendantes. Elle est l\u00e9g\u00e8rement divergente. Apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9 et partiellement remis en \u00e9tat (les ailes sont manquantes) par la Medway Aircraft Preservation Society Rochester Airport, Maidstone Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il est maintenant en possession de la Ulster Aviation Society. Cette association qui avait r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9 les 2 r\u00e9acteurs Palas ( les N\u00b0 53 et 54 ), identiques&nbsp;\u00e0 ceux utilis\u00e9 sur l&#8217;appareil, envisage une exposition statique de l&#8217;appareil, sur l&#8217;ancienne base de&nbsp;<strong>Long Kesh<\/strong>&nbsp;en&nbsp;<strong>Irelande du Nord<\/strong>.
