German homebuilt inspired by Jim Bede's original designs

The BD-5 JV, German registered D-EBDJ, made its first flight on 1 August 2012, in the hands of its builder Peter Jo Volk. The flight, which lasted about 15 minutes, took place in Manching ETSI airfield (Bavaria, Germany).

This flight was followed by a second which could be organized on August 17, 2012. The aircraft was mainly built with a kit purchased from a Swiss enthusiast (acquired in The 1970s).

The plane is equipped with a PBS TJ100 B1 turbojet engine. This installation as well as the great number of other evolutions justified the name BD-5 JV (V version).
