Il devait \u00eatre propuls\u00e9 par des r\u00e9acteurs <a href=\"https:\/\/minijets.org\/en\/300-500\/williams-fjx-1-et-fjx-2\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"5722\">William FJX-2<\/a> (l&#8217;<a href=\"https:\/\/minijets.org\/en\/300-500\/williams-ej-22\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"5718\">EJ-22<\/a> version de production du FJX-2 devait atteindre 350 kgp). Les concepteurs visait une vitesse de croisi\u00e8re de l&#8217;ordre de 350 kt pour une distance franchissable de 1500 Nm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Safire devait \u00eatre le concurrent directe de l&#8217;Eclipse 500. Afin de maintenir un prix de vente tr\u00e8s bas, il avait \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire tr\u00e8s largement appel au mat\u00e9riaux composite. Safire se trouva tr\u00e8s rapidement dans l&#8217;impasse avec les EJ-22, William soutenant directement le projet Eclipse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Devant se trouver un autre r\u00e9acteur, Safire se tournera vers un nouveau venu, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Agilis, qui depuis 1996 exp\u00e9rimentait un nouveau turbofan baptis\u00e9 TF-800.
