{"id":9032,"date":"2024-06-07T11:16:09","date_gmt":"2024-06-07T09:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/minijets.org\/?p=9032"},"modified":"2024-11-01T09:39:11","modified_gmt":"2024-11-01T08:39:11","slug":"roger-launay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/minijets.org\/en\/2024\/06\/07\/roger-launay\/","title":{"rendered":"Roger Launay"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une figure des essais en vol fran\u00e7ais<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>N\u00e9 le 6 novembre 1907 aux Lilas (Seine-Saint-Denis), Roger Launay est l&#8217;une des figures marquantes de l&#8217;aviation fran\u00e7aise, ayant contribu\u00e9 au d\u00e9veloppement et aux essais de nombreux appareils durant plusieurs d\u00e9cennies. Sa carri\u00e8re s\u2019\u00e9tend des premiers vols \u00e0 voile jusqu\u2019aux essais de prototypes embl\u00e9matiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Des d\u00e9buts dans l&#8217;aviation militaire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est \u00e0 17 ans que Roger Launay d\u00e9couvre l&#8217;aviation, en tant que membre d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de pr\u00e9paration militaire. Il effectue ses premiers vols sur un planeur Chanut, lanc\u00e9 des buttes du Fort de Romainville. En 1928, il obtient son brevet de pilote et poursuit une carri\u00e8re au Service A\u00e9ronautique, devenu l&#8217;Arm\u00e9e de l\u2019air en 1934. Il est affect\u00e9 \u00e0 Istres, puis \u00e0 \u00c9tampes, et passe quatre ans et demi au service technique de Villacoublay avant de rejoindre Morane-Saulnier en 1937.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Les premiers essais chez Morane-Saulnier<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>En mai 1937, Roger Launay est d\u00e9cor\u00e9 de la m\u00e9daille d\u2019argent de l\u2019A\u00e9roclub de France, comptabilisant 1570 heures de vol, dont 500 sur des prototypes, un accomplissement rare pour l\u2019\u00e9poque. Contrairement \u00e0 de nombreux pilotes d\u2019essai, il n\u2019a jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00ab chasseur \u00bb. Entre 1937 et 1939, il effectue les essais en vol des appareils suivants :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1937<\/strong> : Morane Saulnier MS-405 n\u00b001, \u00e9quip\u00e9 d&#8217;un moteur Hispano Suiza 12 XGRS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1938<\/strong> : MS-405 C1 n\u00b01 de s\u00e9rie, MS-406 C1, MS-278 (moteur Clerget 14F \u00e0 huile lourde), MS-407 LP, MS-350 (moteur Salmson 9AG), MS-350 (avion d\u2019acrobatie, moteur Renault 6Q de 220 cv), MS-430 (biplace d\u2019entra\u00eenement, moteur Salmson).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1939<\/strong> : MS-405 n\u00b07 et n\u00b09, MS-407 (moteur Hispano-Suiza 12 Y 51, atteignant 510 km\/h \u00e0 Bourges).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L&#8217;engagement pendant la guerre<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Roger Launay rejoint les Forces Fran\u00e7aises Combattantes, o\u00f9 il s&#8217;implique au sein du r\u00e9seau Franco-Polonais F2. Son engagement dans la R\u00e9sistance marque une p\u00e9riode cruciale de sa vie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un retour marquant aux essais en vol chez SIPA<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e8s 1944,  Roger Launay revient \u00e0 sa carri\u00e8re de pilote d\u2019essai en int\u00e9grant la SIPA. Il r\u00e9alise le premier vol du SIPA S.10, d\u00e9riv\u00e9 de l\u2019Arado 396, \u00e0 la fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e \u00e0 Bourges. Il continue de piloter les d\u00e9riv\u00e9s de cet appareil, notamment les SIPA S.11, S.12, S.12A, S.111, S.121, et S.111A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les ann\u00e9es suivantes sont marqu\u00e9es par plusieurs essais d\u2019appareils notables :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1947<\/strong> : SIPA S.90, ainsi que toute la famille des S.901 et S.902.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1952<\/strong> : <a href=\"https:\/\/minijets.org\/en\/150-300\/turbomeca-palas\/sipa-200-minijet\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"3165\">SIPA 200 Minijet<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1955<\/strong> : <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/SIPA_S.1000_Coccinelle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SIPA 1000 Coccinelle<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Derni\u00e8res contributions \u00e0 l&#8217;a\u00e9ronautique<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Roger Launay continue d\u2019apporter sa contribution aux essais des appareils de la SIPA, comme chef pilote d&#8217;essai et responsable de la base SIPA de Villacoublay  jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1950. Son travail sur ces prototypes on fait de lui une figure cl\u00e9 des essais en vol de l&#8217;aviation fran\u00e7aise d\u2019apr\u00e8s-guerre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une vie d\u00e9di\u00e9e aux essais en vol<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Roger Launay a marqu\u00e9 l&#8217;aviation par ses nombreuses contributions, de ses premiers vols \u00e0 voile jusqu\u2019\u00e0 sa participation aux essais de certains des avions les plus innovants de l\u2019\u00e9poque. Son d\u00e9vouement et son expertise lui ont valu une reconnaissance durable dans l\u2019histoire de l\u2019a\u00e9ronautique fran\u00e7aise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Distinctions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Tout au long de sa carri\u00e8re, Roger Launay a re\u00e7u plusieurs distinctions, dont la m\u00e9daille militaire, et il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 officier de la L\u00e9gion d\u2019Honneur en d\u00e9cembre 1949 pour ses services remarquables dans l&#8217;a\u00e9ronautique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Appareils pour
