Teledyne Continental Model number was 382-10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F408 had been also used on the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/minijets.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Eclipse_500_With_F408.jpg\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"6244\">Eclipse 500<\/a> prototype<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Development began in 1985.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its classification was &#8220;Bypass turbojet&#8221; with a ratio about 0.25.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The engine had a fan stage followed by a mixed-flow compressor, slinger type combustor, and a single-stage turbine. The compressor and fan design drew on CAE&#8217;s earlier advanced technology&nbsp; work, while the turbine was similar to&nbsp;that used in Model 373-8B.
