{"id":6457,"date":"2003-09-01T16:17:00","date_gmt":"2003-09-01T14:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tst.minijets.org\/?p=6457"},"modified":"2022-11-18T17:01:40","modified_gmt":"2022-11-18T16:01:40","slug":"fairchild-tests-jet-assist-for-transports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/minijets.org\/fr\/2003\/09\/01\/fairchild-tests-jet-assist-for-transports\/","title":{"rendered":"Fairchild Tests Jet Assist for Transports"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AVIATION WEEK, September 27, 1954<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To determine the value of jet assistance in increasing takeoff loads and rate of climb, Fairchild Engine &amp; Airplane Corp.&#8217;s Ait- craft Division, Hagerstown, Md., is testing a C-82 with a <a href=\"https:\/\/minijets.org\/300-500\/fairchild-j-44s\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"4958\">Fairchild J44<\/a> turbojet atop the fuselage between the piston engines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The J44 gives an added 1,000 Ib. thrust on takeoff.
