Minijets: The site for light jet aviation enthusiasts
Welcome on Minijets
Minijets.org is a website dedicated to documenting and sharing the history of mini jet aircraft. Our primary goal is to provide historical and technical insights into these unique machines, highlighting the key players and innovations that have shaped this aviation adventure. This site is mainly a space for exploration and knowledge-sharing, not a commercial platform. We invite you to browse our content and contribute to enriching this documentation if you wish.
Site genesis
Our research began in 1990, and in 2001, we started sharing our discoveries online. The Minijets website was launched in 2003. While it remains a work in progress and may never be fully exhaustive, it has the potential to grow significantly with your help. If you spot any errors or inaccuracies, or if you have additional information, anecdotes, or photos to share, please don't hesitate to contact us. Together, we can make this project even more complete.
A true passion
Classification
Although the term Minijet was first used in 1950 (to commercially name the SIPA 200)), our aim when creating this website was to use it to showcase aircraft powered by low-thrust jet engines.
We did not intend to establish a classification based on engine thrust. The one we use here was chosen for simplicity and to suit the website's presentation needs.
Around the world of minijets
Beyond the four classes of jet engines, Minijets invites you to explore the other dimensions of this aeronautical adventure: the people who shaped it, as well as the alternative technologies that opened new paths.
