DG-1000J

The DG-1000 is a double seated glider designed and built by DG Flugzeugbau. The J version is a non-official variant driven by a jet engine. This enables high horizontal flight speeds. The jet engine was integrated into the aircraft by the Akaflieg Karlsruhe (part of KIT Karlsruher Institut für Technologie)
A Titan 400N turbine was installed in cooperation with the Institute for Thermal Flowengines at the KIT. The behavior of an AMT Titan (mark 6) Jet Engine by the Dutch producer Draline (PSR 2 System) were researched and improved with a silencer.
