BD-5J J402

Tori Mac's BD-5J

Little is known about Tori Mac’s BD-5J J402, which stands out with its yellow livery adorned with black stripes and the distinctive “The Trailblazer Project” marking on the tail.

Designed to be equipped with a Teledyne CAE J402-CA-700 turbojet – featuring a diameter similar to that of a Microturbo TRS-18 but slightly longer – this aircraft was intended to deliver 640 pounds of thrust.

In 2006, during a meeting in Australia, Juan Jimenez had the opportunity to observe the aircraft. Although it appeared nearly complete, there were no immediate plans for it to take flight. This raises the question of whether the BD-5J was primarily a marketing tool to promote Tori Mac's image rather than an operational aircraft.
