The first flight of the jet-powered Silent 2 TARGA occurred on the 31 st of August 2009.

The 392 Newton (88 lbf) Titan engine from AMT completely retracts into the fuselage.

For the maiden flight the Silent 2 TARGA was towed aloft by a Dimona motorglider to an altitude of approximately 700 meters (2300 ft) with the engine initially stowed in the fuselage.

Once off tow, the engine was started and shut down a total of three times. Several level-flight tests were performed with indicated airspeeds in the 170-180 kph (105-112 mph) range.
